THE RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS of the "ASSUNTA" August 2019

NOVARA di SICILIA 15 August 2019. As every year on August 15th, the procession of the Madonna Assunta takes place in the village of Novara di Sicilia.
It is a religious and festive event expected throughout the year. This festival is part of the events of the Novarese Summer together with a series of other religious and civil events involving all the citizens of the country and attracting thousands of people who live far away and abroad. The religious celebrations of the festival takes three days but the preparations begin at least two months before. The Assumption procession on the evening of the 15th is very touching and exciting in all aspects and has remained as a tradition for at least two centuries.
